Armidale Secondary College Uniform Survey

The consultation process around the design of the new uniforms for Armidale Secondary College commenced in Term 4 last year. During a series of focus groups and Positive Behaviour for Learning sessions, students provided feedback in regard to preferred colours, items and styles. This data was collated and expressions of interest were sought from P&C Associations for the formation of the Uniform Working Party. This now comprises parents and staff from public schools in Armidale who meet on a monthly basis to manage the process of determining the new uniform.

Student feedback was used to prepare a uniform brief. Focus groups of students were then provided with fabric swatches and asked to suggest potential colour palettes for the dress and skirt. The support for two particular options was overwhelming, which resulted in sample uniforms being produced for further student and parent consultation at primary and high schools over the coming weeks.

The Uniform Roadshow has attended all public schools in Armidale. Students have completed a short paper survey indicating their preferred option and any comment they would like to make in relation to supporting uniform items. Parents can complete an online survey though the Armidale Future School website or via the link: https://armidalefutureschool.com.au/uniform-feedback

We are very proud of the insightful and mature attitude of our students in approaching this complex task. Once the colour preference is known, additional pants, shorts, tops, jumpers etc will be determined to produce a unisex multiform where items can be mixed and matched.
