Community partners

Parents and community are essential partners in the education of children at Armidale City Public School (ACPS). Parents are involved in classroom activities including literacy and numeracy groups, assisting with supervision on excursions and assisting teachers in the development of resources. Teachers endeavour to develop a close relationship with parents and caregivers to ensure that all children's social, emotional and educational needs are met.

Parents and community members can also become involved in the Parents and Citizens (P & C) organisation and the School Council.

The P & C is an organisation of parents, teachers and community members that meet on the first Wednesday of each month during the school term at 6.30pm in the library. The P & C organisation promotes the interest of the school by bringing parents, citizens, students and teaching staff into close co-operation; assists in providing facilities and equipment for the school and promoting the recreation and welfare of students at the school and encourage parent and community participation in curriculum and other educational issues in the school.

The School Council is a group that meets on the forth Monday of each term to ‘enable formal school community participating in planning and governance of the school and to foster closer links between the school and the community'.
